Oto Melara, a Finmeccanica company, signed a contract with Schelde Naval Shipbuilding (The Netherlands) for the supply to the Indonesian Navy of 2 76/62 Super Rapid naval gun mountings. In the frame of the agreement between the Indonesian Navy and the above mentioned shipyard, the Indonesian Navy will have in service, starting from year 2006, two new SIGMA Class Corvettes on board of which the two Oto Melara guns will be installed. The contract is also inclusive of the related technical assistance during installation, integration and sea trials.  From the industrial point of view the contract will develop in a period  of  4 years (2004 - 2008).

The contract has been signed by Mr. Carlo Alberto Iardella, Oto Melara CEO and Mr. J.H.N. van Ameijden, Managing Director of Schelde Naval Shipbuilding.
